Data Filtering (Analysis, Culling)

Once electronic data has been collected, it then becomes critical to understand the volume, file types involved and relevancy of the collection. NightOwl utilizes unprecedented technology tools to analyze electronic collections and provide clients with the valuable information they need to make decisions about how to move forward with discovery.

NightOwl creates a full inventory of the electronic data once it is loaded to our secure network. The inventory includes summaries of the file types, names and sizes. Working with industry-leading software applications, NightOwl filters information further, creating reports which clients can use to make decisions about which file types are relevant to the matter at hand, eliminate duplications and identify non-discoverable information.

Upon client direction, NightOwl engages an advanced culling process to further narrow the collection. Culling techniques include using target date ranges, names of individuals and key word searches. Only relevant data is then passed on for further processing.

NightOwl’s comprehensive approach to analysis and culling reduces electronic discovery costs and eases the demand on client resources for reviewing the collection.
